Wonder & Whimsy Post is monthly snail mail for curious kids + connected families, created from a little corner of House of Terrie Nelson.

Our very first edition is inspired by something warm, familiar and made from many different ingredients:

Apple pie.

This month, we’re using the idea of a recipe to explore some of the wonderful layers that help shape who we are.

The Interactive Apple Pie

Every good pie is made with different ingredients — and so are we.

Children will choose apple pieces, respond to simple prompts by writing or drawing, talk about their answers with someone they love, and tuck their apples into their pie.

There are no perfect answers.

Just opportunities to wonder, create, talk and grow together.

Wonder & Whimsy Post is something my children and I are creating together.

Some of the artwork begins with their own drawings. They help inspire activities, create little pieces and take part in putting each month’s Post together.

Our hope is that when it reaches your home, your family gets to become part of that process too.

Use it during your homeschool morning, after school, on a slow weekend afternoon, around the kitchen table, or whenever you want an intentional reason to reconnect.
